Uber-Tiles osgi-fied Struts with Cedric Dumoulin
Remember Cedric Dumoulin, original creator of Tiles?
He would like to work with me on an OSGi-fied version of Struts, kind of
like an "Uber-Tiles", using OSGi components "bundles"
that contribute to a UI (similar to Eclipse RCP, but on the server) but
can also contribute logic.
I believe OSGi-fied webapps are the next big thing, see my article at
http://www.infonoia.com/en/content.jsp?d=inf.05.07
It means we need auto-registration of Struts config files via OSGi
services, among many other things.
The stuff could run on OSGi-containers such as felix (in apache
incubator) or classic servlet containers such as Tomcat (with some
Eclipse jars added).
Please contact me (wgehner [at] infonoia [dot] com) if you are
interested in participating in the project, and your company may be
willing to allow you spend time on this. Their obvious benefit being
that they get an implementation that meets their internal needs for
easier componentized applications.
