[jira] [Commented] (OAK-2169) Pluggability of
UserAuthenticationFactory
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-2169?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14214677#comment-14214677 ]
angela commented on OAK-2169:
-----------------------------
[~djaeggi], thanks a lot for the patch. at first glance i am not totally sure i understand the difference between the factory and the factory provider. the way i see it, the factory doesn't have any other meaning than allowing to provide different implementations of user-authentication, right? so adding a provider for the factory confuses me :-)
maybe everything would be easier, if we would allow the factory to return {{null}} upon {{getAuthentication}} if it is not in charge of the specified configuration or userid. we only recently introduced the interface in the trunk (1.1.x series) and we are still free to adjust it). let me try to incorporate my remarks in the attached patch.

> [~djaeggi], maybe it would be beneficial if the UserAuthenticationFactory was not just pluggable when using the java setup but also at runtime using OSGi services.... as far as i remember this is not yet implemented, right?
