I think the git diff output will always be smaller than the patch file, but it's probably better to err on the side of caution and allow some small percentage bigger.

> During the gitdiff calculations, if the line count is signficantly larger that the size of the patch file itself, something is (with extreme high probability) wrong with the configuration of the build.  We should exit out and point users to some things to look for/check to help them rather than bumbling along generating extremely large and useless log files.
