   I'd say just try it. I'm not very familiar with the BucketCache, especially the disk based one. I think it is mainly implemented by @anoopsjohn and @ramkrish86 . But anyway, this is not something like a race condition, you just shrink the size of a buffer, if there are problems then I think it will fail a lot of UTs.
   
   Just go ahead and have a try :)
