this is the use case:
- run a publisher to publish a message to topic: /foo/bar
- run a listener as subscriber to topic /foo/bar
the result:
- active mq translate the publisher topic from /foo/bar to ".foo.bar". which is an error, active mq should translate it to "foo.bar"
- active mq translate the listener subscribes to subscribe topic "/foo/bar"
- there for listener never get the message published by publisher

I don't see this testing against trunk, perhaps you want to try with a later release.

Recommend you create a unit test to reproduce your problem and attach it.
