Your help is requested

For some reason www.slashdot.org does not think that news about Velocity is
good enough for their site under the Apache section and rejected my
announcement about 1.0b1.

So, my thought on this is that we need to get more people attempting to post
news about Velocity. If you could post the following the the Apache/Apache
section, that would be great...maybe one of them will go through...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
<p>
The Velocity project is pleased to announce the release of Version 1.0
beta 1 of the Velocity template engine.
</p>

<p>
Velocity is a powerful template engine written in Java and released as
open source software under the Apache Software License. Designed to be used
with any software written in Java, Velocity is a rich template facility
based upon a simple and complete template language which allows easy access
to application-provided data.
</p>

<p>
Because Velocity's design strictly enforces the Model-View-Controller
(MVC) design pattern, it is very well suited for use in Java-based web
development projects, as it enforces the separation of the presentation
layer from the supporting business-logic, data sources, and control
code.
</p>

<p>
Velocity is part of the Jakarta Project, a group of open-source software
projects of the Apache Software Foundation chartered with providing
open-source server solutions based on the Java platform.
</p>

Probably :)  But it's worth a try...

Perhaps we should wait until 1.0 Final

These are the previously posted software releases on slashdot/apache
Apache 1.3.19 Released
Apache 1.3.17 released
Apache 2.0a9 Released
Tomcat 3.2 Final Release
Apache 2.0 Alpha 8 Released

I guess its only the Apache server that gets Alpha/Beta releases posted.
