Java Library again

Hi again!

Hmmm. Seems like most of the people dont have the time right now for reviewing the code I sent.
Right now I still have observer status, so I wont be able to check in the stuff to the repository myself.
Will anybody else do this for me?

In about two weeks I will be on a tour for three weeks, from approx. August 15th till September 3rd,
so my time slot for implementing stuff till then is pretty small....

Alex

Apologies, Alexander; I will either check it in today or post comments
explaining what needs to be changed if not.

Hi!

It doesnt HAVE to match a domain name. For example a lot of large companies just give a shit about this
and introduce some name on the top namespace level. Till now I thought www.subversion.org was a
domain registered for our project. But it seems this isnt the case. Right?

So we can change it to org/tigris/subversion/lib. But then the current sourcecode has to be changed
as well (all of the import and the package declarations)

There's no hard rule, per say. However, using your domain name (in
reverse) as the package name generally guarantees that you can avoid
name conflicts.

Personally, I always use the domain/package naming scheme.

No, you are understanding correctly. Perhaps just an oversight?

I took a glance at them yesterday on the train-ride home, and I agree
that for initial interfaces, they look pretty good.

Okay, have an immediate question about the Java layout:

   $ cd subversion/clients/java
   $ ls -lR
   .:
   org/

   ./org:
   subversion/

   ./org/subversion:
   SubversionException.java lib/

   ./org/subversion/lib:
   Client.java Revision.java TextdeltaOp.java WorkingCopy.java
   Entry.java Status.java TextdeltaWindow.java
   Reporter.java TextdeltaHandler.java TreeDeltaEditor.java

Is there a reason it's not "org/tigris/subversion/lib/"? I'm not
fully familiar with the Java layout conventions, but I thought they
were supposed to match the domain name or something? Please correct
me if I'm just misunderstanding the rules here.

The interfaces look fine; as you say, no JNI implementation yet, but
getting the interfaces first makes sense.
