------- Additional Comments From kcozens@interlog.com 2002-11-05 17:06 -------
I disabled both firewall and anti-virus software and was able to run Apache
2.0.43 once more. Futher tests indicate that Apache and the firewall software
(Zone Alarm version 3.1.395 by Zone Labs) were happy with each other. The
problem is the McAfee anti-virus software. They also include a firewall feature
with their anti-virus software but I had told it not to install it. It may still
be that part of their package which caused the problem.
