The ant-tasks are packaged with a specific version of maven at build time. So there is not a way to change the version being used until the next release. The next release of the ant tasks will use the latest stable version of Maven (2.2.1).
If you need a specific version of Maven other than the one packaged with the ant tasks, then you are better off using an ant macro as described in the site documentation.
