small sqare when copy text from PDF to MS Word
Hi,
I'm using FOP 0.95 to generate PDF. Everything seems normal inside PDF, the fonts are embedded (see the image attached) but when I copy them from PDF to MSWord I get small squares in between words as seen in doc file attached.
Did anybody encounter such an issue before? What will be the solution to this problem?
Thanks a lot
Lucian Opris

Lucian,
There is something wrong with the Frutiger font.
I'm not a Font Expert, I just can see that white spaces (U+20) are
replaced with U+FFFF when copy/pasting a snippet that use that font,
either with FOP
0.95, or with FOP TRUNK.

Hi,
Please see the attached xsl, xml and resulting pdf. Still, I could not make Frutiger 45 Light to work. Why are spaces replaced by squares? Where is this replacement take place?

Hi Lucian,
Squares stand for U+FFFF characters, witch seem to replace space characters.
We need a short XSL-FO that reproduces the problem for deeper investigation.
Alternately, you can try copy/paste with another font (this will
indicate if your font is faulty or not), or retry with FOP TRUNK (this
will indicate if there was an issue that had been fixed).
