Xerces on HPUX 11 using gcc

Hi,
Has anyone yet managed to successfully run Xerces on HPUX after building it with gcc.
I've tried building Xerces with gcc 3.0.1 , and it hasn't given me any errors. I also built the samples.
But the samples just don't seem to be running, they hang in the 'parse' function.
Please let me know if someone has been able to successfully do it on HP using gcc.
