Poolman feedback from author

Hi,

I recently asked the PoolMan's author whether he will continue the
development of PoolMan. Below is its answer.

Hi Adriano,

You are right, I simply have not had time to update PoolMan. In fact, I
would like to find a new maintainer. The codestudio site is coming down
soon, so I would like to move it entirely to SourceForge and let others take
control of it.

Subject: About PoolMan

Hi,

I use PoolMan for a long time now in several Struts-based web applications
developments.

In the Struts user mailing list, I saw a lot of messages of people looking
for help and having problems with PoolMan, and especially version 2.1-beta.

I had myself some blocking problems that prevent me from using the 2.1b
version (I have sent a note to you). Also, other people in absence of
solutions had to come back to version 2.0.4.

As I don't see changes or news on www.codestudio.com about PoolMan, I would
like to know whether the development of PoolMan is continuing in the future
and if you are aware of all problems related with the last version.

The problem is that there is no way to see or sumbit bug reports. Similarly
there is no mailing list or newsgroups for the PoolMan's users, and a lot of
developers don't seem to know how to get help.

I think that it is a shame because PoolMan is a great and powerful product
and it can have more spread in the developer's community. Some people in
absence of solution got the advice to use other connection pools...

Thanks.
Best regards,
Adriano
