[OT] Search problem in Eyebrowse archive

Dear all,

just want to be sure it is not my inability.

There is a thread archived in the dev@lenya.apache.org mailing list, see:

http://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/ReadMsg?listName=dev@lenya.apache.org&msgNo=8941

When I try to use the search facilities on Nagoya and search subjects for
the term "modularity" none of the messages in this thread is found. Any
idea why? Any idea who in Apache to talk to to report this problem?

It is dangerous in my view if messages are not found as everybody keeps
telling anyone that you should first search the archives before asking a
question.

Regards,
Torsten

well, either "revolutionize" email data format itself, which I guess
won't happen
in the near future or pipe it into a CMS (e.g. Lenya) where each email
will be packed into an envelope which allows to add meta-data, e.g.
summary, keywords, etc.

Apply Lucene/Nutch to this enhanced email content and I am sure it will
help a lot.

well, if you don't know what to search for, then I guess "nothing" will
help ;-)
but I guess I misunderstand you here.

i wasn't really talking about searching (which is obvious, and will be
added to mod_mbox soon), but rather about identifying useful
information. if you don't know what to search for, the engine doesn't
help very much unfortunately.

On my calendar it's deep into april, but they only go up to March yet.

Which makes it next to useless IMO.

Is this an Apache infrastructure project? Any info / plans / etc.?

eyebrowse is dead. use mod_mbox at
http://mail-archives.eu.apache.org/mod_mbox/ (unfortunately without
search for now).

also, you can download all the mbox files from
http://lenya.apache.org/mail/ to feed a local search

this makes me wonder how we could extract all that knowledge that went
into the mailing list archive..
