[HELP NEEDED] please help with testing OPENMEETINGS-2078

Hello All,

Recently I have implemented "improved shortcuts" i.e. hotkeys
Now you don't need to guess some magical key codes etc.
You can specify hotkey using keypress in admin and use it room

According to Peter this works as expected on Linux machine
but fail on Mac and Windows

I need help to get steps to reproduce what is wrong

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks a lot for the help with testing

I just have updated demo-next https://om.alteametasoft.com:8443/next with
most recent version
Hotkeys should how work as expected regardless keyboard layout selected

Would appreciate if you can re-test :)
The steps are the same

Hmm,

by "pure OM" I mean OM without any front-end proxy

So HTTP request from end-user browser will go directly to OM
In case of front-end proxy is configured: end-user browser request will be
processed by proxy, then forwarded to OM.

Hello,

I would set-up Apache HTTPD as front-end proxy, but you can use "pure OM"

The topic was discussed several times
Could you please search it in mail-list archives?

Re: no video at the viewer when audio is on

Posted by "R. Scholz" <re...@abakus-edv-systems.de>.
Hello Maxim,

the clients use Windows 10, Browser Chrome and Firefox (actial version).
My OM-Server is Ubuntu 18.04, last Update OM-M2 last Friday.

Your steps:
1) enter room of type 'presentation'
Yes

2) turn on video
Result: video turned on
Yes, moderator and Viewer see the video

3) turn on audio
Result: video off, audio+video turned on
Video short time off,
/*moderator:  audio+video turned on*//*
*//*viewer only audio on*//*
*/
4) turn off video
Result: audio only
Yes

And: Size of picture: I think at the beginning is a large video-picture
a good idea. After switch off the video the picture should be
automatically to the smallest size.
(I think nobody need picture with the drawing so large.)

With best regards,

René

Re: no video at the viewer when audio is on

Hello Rene,

What version are you using?
What OS/browser ?

I just tested following steps:
1) enter room of type 'presentation'
2) turn on video
Result: video turned on
3) turn on audio
Result: video off, audio+video turned on
4) turn off video
Result: audio only

Ubuntu 19/Chrome latest (demo-next)

According to "Is t possible, when I only have the microphone on (no
video), to make the little picture (the head-drawing with the question
mark) invisible or very small?"

This static picture has the size of video you have configured in the Video
Settings ...

Hello,

when "the moderator" configurate the cam/microphone-settings all looks OK.
I see there the preview-video and the green line from the microphone is
functionally.

When I switch on the video-stream in the viewer-browser the video
appears. Wonderful.
After that I switch on the microphone and the video goes offline, the
"head-drawing with the question mark" appears. The audio is functionally.

I see no error in the logs of kurento, coturn or OM5.

Another question: Is t possible, when I only have the microphone on (no
video), to make the little picture (the head-drawing with the question
mark) invisible or very small?
Reason: Only at the beginning of a webinar we have a video of the
moderator(s), when the presentation begins the video switches offline
and only the audio is on.

With best regards,

René

Morning,

checked it with Win10 and different layouts.

german Layout -> doesn't work

english layout -> work as expected

french layout -> doesn't work

english US layout -> doesn't work

Unfortunately I needed to simulate french and US keybooard, behause I
have no natural one present. Maybe this cause the problems.

Next I am going to try the virtual desktop-keyboard but I need to
reinstall it ;-)

I just tested this on my Windows PC and it worked correctly (English).

Is there a list of possible functions that this system can be programmed
for?

Thanks. Dan

Sure, no problem :)
Do you think the code need to be updated so it will work regardless of
Layout selected?

This was my second best guess :))
Are you expecting hotkeys should work in any layout?

Hi,

my colleagues tested it on demo/next right now on MAC with Firefox and
Chrome. No quick poll and nothing in the console. VM with M$ Windows 10
and Chrome the same.

Btw. we had it somewhere else: We are Germans ;-) maybe again the
keyboard layout?

Greetings Peter

Thanks :))

My steps were:
1) enter any room at demo-next as moderator
2) press Ctrl+Alt+Q
Expected result: quick poll should be started

According to @Peter [1]:
Works for me on Linux. On M$ and MAC it doesn't work. No Quick poll by
using Ctrl+Alt+Q. Users were moderators.

Hey, agree to Dan. What shall we do? Just set hotkeys in the admin
section?
