[users@httpd] servername - hostname
Hi
Does the "hostname" of the WindowsME machine have to be tha same as the "ServerName" in the httpd.conf? or can they be different?
Im am running a apache with nimmersoft.dk as Servername and the machine is called "Server1" in the WindowsNetwork setup. Is that of any consequence?

No, the windows host name is only used for NetBIOS/MS File/Printer
sharing and is not directly related to DNS.
As long as your domain name resolves to the IP address of the machine
hosting your web server and a valid configuration exists on that machine
to serve requests for your domain, all things being equal the machine
will serve files for the domain regardless of the netbios name.
In relation to your other recent post, the URL http://www.nimmersoft.dk/
appears to be working correctly at the moment.
