Installing thrift on mac OS-X 10.6.8

Hi Users,

I am getting following error when I ran sh ./contrib/fb303/bootstrap.sh in
thrift 0.9.1.

checking for ranlib... (cached) ranlib
./configure: line 17060: syntax error near unexpected token `QT,'
./configure: line 17060: `    PKG_CHECK_MODULES(QT, QtCore >= 4.3,
QtNetwork >= 4.3, have_qt=yes, have_qt=no)'

I have compiled boost in my machine successfully and followed the
instrucutions from here[1].

I just found similar when building on Linux from the repo. It seems
that you need --with-lua=no as a dependency on lua 5.2 has been added
and is not easily installed from package repos. So unless you are doing
lua dev it is not worth the effort to try and get thrift lua compiled.

I would think you could use the --with-qt4=no when running configure to
disable qt support....

It is only used in the C++ QT server and protocol (not necessary)

Best,
Matt

Just off the top it looks like it is dependent on the QT library and you
are missing that library.

I've not installed it on my Mac, and in general only do development in
Linux and am unfamiliar with the process of installing libraries in OSX.
