Minutes of the Woden Status Telecon, 2008-01-08
Attendees: Lawrence Mandel, John Kaputin, Jeremy Hughes
Minutes
1. Open Action Items - Lawrence Mandel
2007-12-11 - Lawrence will investigate graduation items and start to work
on crossing them off the list.
2007-12-18
Lawrence: I found information on the incubator site [1] about migrating
Woden's infrastructure. Our mailing list and wiki are already on hosted by
the ws project and don't need to be migrated. I'll migrate SVN this Friday
afternoon. I'll send an e-mail to the dev list with a specific time block
for the migration and announce before and after the migration occurs. I'll
also post instructions on migrating your workspace. After the SVN
migration I'll move the website, update the incubator site and status
file, and request a new commits mailing list. Note that I've already
updated Jira to include Woden in the ws projects list.
2008-01-08
Lawrence: Everything is complete except the commits mailing list. We also
need to report one last time in an incubator board report.
[action] John will fill in the January incubator board report for Woden.
Closed.

2007-12-18 - John will propose a new M8 date on the dev list.
2008-01-08
John: I haven't had a look yet.
Jeremy: It would be good to get M8 out before the Axis2 1.4 release. No
date yet.
2007-12-18 - Lawrence will create a tools page on the Woden site with the
XSLT and converter.
2008-01-08
Lawrence: No progress.
John: Will the permalink for the xslt go on this page.
Lawrence: Yes. We may require build modifications to build the converter
and package it separately.
2. Milestone 8 (M8) Status - John Kaputin
John: I've been off the past couple weeks. No significant progress.
Jeremy: Is the M8 Jira list up to date?
John: Yes. There are at least a couple Jiras that can be deferred as
they're not essential for WSDL 2.0 compliance.
3. Woden move to the Web Services project - Lawrence Mandel
This was covered in the action items section.
4. Development Discussion - All
Jeremy: We have several API issues on the wiki page. Are these being held
for after M8?
John: We can do these in M8 but it will require more effort. The risk in
doing the API changes afterwards if we may do extra work now.
Jeremy: What's Woden's release process now that we've graduated?
Lawrence: We only need to hold a Woden vote.
John: How does Axis2 pick up other projects? Do they use daily snapshots?
Jeremy: They use a snapshot for XmlSchema. When Axis2 1.4 starts closing
down they'll request releases.
Lawrence: How's the serialization development proceeding?
John: There's been no new code since Oct. Sagara attached some test WSDLs.
There are a number of items left from my comments on the Oct. code patch.
I haven't seen any comment on my comments yet.
5. Other Business - All
Lawrence: I have a conflict during next week's call. Can we move it one
hour earlier?
John: Sure.
Jeremy: Sure.
Note: The Woden status call on 2008-01-15 will be held one hour earlier
than usual.
Thanks,
Lawrence Mandel
