[~srbhatna] Thanks for your report. If I understand you correctly, then I think the issue you describe does not exist. I am successfully using httpclient-osgi, with a configured proxy, to make https requests to some social media APIs.
But maybe I misunderstand your problem. Could you maybe provide a test case, a starting point could be [TestOSGiHttpRoutePlanner|https://github.com/apache/httpclient/blob/4.5.x/httpclient-osgi/src/test/java/org/apache/http/osgi/impl/TestOSGiHttpRoutePlanner.java]? If that's not feasible, maybe at least a snippet of the code that's not working for you.
