Autoversioning With Subversion

The docs say:

"When SVNAutoversioning is active, write requests from WebDAV clients
result in automatic commits. A generic log message is auto-generated and
attached to each revision"

We're looking at using SVN to help track changes to our servers. Normally
with SVN, different users have their own working copies. But for this
application, there would only be one working copy on the server. There are
multiple people who may end up making changes. Can the auto-version log
capture the username from the Windows network
credentials? The goal is to be able to see who made what changes on the
server.

I'd also appreciate if anyone is aware of another off-the-shelf way to do
this.

Thanks!

Using the WebDAV autoversioning feature, there is not one central
working copy; there is *no* working copy; you just work directly in
the mounted repository drive.

Yes, the autoversioning feature should record the svn:author property
correctly.
