RE: [AXIS ARCH] Process for modifying Axis Arch. Doc. (voting req uired please)

Thanks for writing this up, Steve.

I'm swamped today and tomorrow, so likely won't get to reading this in
detail for a while, but I wanted to make one quick comment to the list at
large about another process issue.

I am really disheartened about our lack of reasonable (i.e. threaded and
searchable) archives for this mailing list. Is there anything we can do
about this, since I really consider this key as we move forward with our
design discussions. For instance, I want to be able to refer to a thread on
the mailing list by url in the architecture doc, and have people just click
to get there. I also want to be able to search the archives for [AXIS ISSUE
1].

Do any of the other Apache mailing lists have the sort of web interface that
the Developmentor SOAP list has (http://discuss.develop.com)? Can we
piggyback on whatever servers provide these services? Is there any plan to
implement something like this on the xml.apache.org server itself? It is my
impression that there are at least several free, open source mailing list
archivers out there - it would be really nice to have this.

[caveat: I have not yet looked at the quickplace thing, so I'm not sure how
good that is]
