Adding akismet key - should I see any new options in Roller?

Hello,

I have added the following to my roller-custom.properties:

# pluggable comment validation
comment.validator.classnames=\
org.apache.roller.weblogger.ui.rendering.plugins.comments.BlacklistCommentValidator,\
org.apache.roller.weblogger.ui.rendering.plugins.comments.ExcessLinksCommentValidator,\
org.apache.roller.weblogger.ui.rendering.plugins.comments.ExcessSizeCommentValidator,\
org.apache.roller.weblogger.ui.rendering.plugins.comments.AkismetCommentValidator

comment.validator.akismet.key=<MY_KEY_IN_HERE>

and am wondering if I should be seeing anything in the Roller web interfaces
or if that is all I need to do to activate Akismet within Roller? I don't
see any new links or management section, do I need to set up Akismet in some
way or is it fully included in Roller? I haven't managed to find anything on
the web about this integration process.

Not sure if you got this working but I have a feeling you've got the API key
property slightly wrong, I think it should be
'comment.validator.akismet.apikey' not 'comment.validator.akismet.key'.

I only noticed this myself when trawling my roller log when I found the
following line:

 WebloggerConfig:getProperty - Fetching property
[comment.validator.akismet.apikey=<removed>]

have only just restarted my blog server after changing it myself so too
early to say if it works or not yet.

Cheers,

Edd

Thanks for the reply. I can see the 'Akismet Comment Validator' appearing in
the logs as you mention but I am still receiving spam trackbacks for
casinos, poker, slot machines etc. I have added these words to the 'Spam
Prevention' list but they keep coming. Maybe I am missing a trick somewhere.
