Log files chopped short.

Hello,

I am running Tomcat 4.0.4 and I keep getting log files that are cut down.
They just finish half-way through a string, or a timestamp or anywhere.

Other times, actually most times, I get just an empty log file.  So a log
file is being created but then nothing is written to it.

Has anyone had this problem?
