configure DTD version to use for validation of struts-config

Hi,

I am using struts and have a struts-config.xml that is valid against
struts-config_1_1.dtd (I checked it with xmlstarlet, that it is
definitely valid).
Now when starting my application I get the error:

Parse Error at line 91 column 25: Element type "global-exceptions" must
be declared.

global-execption is contained in struts-config_1_1.dtd, but not in
version 1.0. So obviously struts validates against the wrong version.
The doctype in struts-config.xml sais, that it uses version 1.1. So why
is struts using the wrong version?

Any ideas?

Regards
Nicole

Duncan,

Will a link to this presentation be posted to the Wiki (or this list)
sometime after you present? I find the topic interesting, especially since
I'm probably going to the Boston JUG in August to learn why Spring is
supposed to be such a big deal. :)

Indeed, I see lot of interesting talks, which not all of us can

Hi Nicole,

You have a typo.

You don't want global-exceptionS but rather global-exception.

Remove the S and everything should work.

Your doctype declaration is inconsistent: you specify version 1.0 in the public identifier and 1.1 in the system identifier. You need to fix the public identifier to also reference verson 1.1.

the DOCTYPE I am using is:

<!DOCTYPE struts-config PUBLIC
          "-//Apache Software Foundation//DTD Struts Configuration
1.0//EN"

I have looked in the DTD and the name global-exceptions is correct, not
global-exception, like Aladin said. Or am I wrong here?

Could you post the entire DOCTYPE declaration you are using? That
will help us give you an idea of what is actually going on here.
