Noticed when trying to pull GCC (which is huge) from freedesktop-sdk remote CAS. Retry seems to not only trigger retry of cache pull but also fetch sources which seems unexpected.

Okay, maybe not worth blocking release of 1.6.8 for then. That needs to happen soon so it will land in Fedora 37 which has newer grpcio.
