About translations into Finnish
Hi,
I noticed your ad on the Finnish frontpage of openoffice.org and - sure thing - I'd like to help you out with translations into Finnish, just need to check something about that first.
Due to my current leisure time activities (e.g. kids, studying, some coding, general silliness with the family :), at this moment I may not be able to contribute to the project as extensively as it would deserve ... are these kind of modest inputs of any help (or more like a burden :) for the project? In any case, I would like to thank for your amazing work on OpenOffice, it is much appreciated!
Thanks again.
BR,
Jori

Hi Jori, that's absolutely fine that you juggle more things in life, just
like the rest of us.
Translating the website into Finnish mainly involves translation of text
files, and some translations in Javascript/HTML files (not too
complicated).
Please let us know how would you like to work? -- We can send you all the
Finnish website files, for you to work, or you can download them by
yourself, through the SVN.
Then, while, or after you translate, we'll publish your work in progress,
so the Finnish website will come to life.
Here are more details about the process, in general:

Welcome aboard,
Tal

AOO 4.1.x (mis)interaction with MTB
Posted by Aivaras Stepukonis <as...@gmail.com>.
I have noticed this misbehavior a while ago but kept forgetting to
report it.
If an instance of AOO is active, opening an AOO document that has been
attached to a Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail fails in a strange way. A new
instance of AOO is being launched on the top of the active one but
unsuccessfully so (I can see this in Windows Task Manager > Processes).
Once the active instance of AOO is closed, the queued instance of AOO
starts with the dialog for recovering the files edited in the previous
instance of AOO, when the steps of the dialog are walked through, the
attachment finally opens.
If I remember correctly, this started with AOO 4.1.x. My OS is Windows
Vista.
Has anyone experienced this?

A minor correction: this is OK in general, but if you look at the files
tree above you'll see that it doesn't reflect what we are showing at
http://www.openoffice.org/fi/ (meaning: there are a lot of outdated
pages that we don't display any longer).
So Jori, if you are available to help, the procedure is described at
http://openoffice.apache.org/website-native.html
and feel free to ask us for a ZIP file to use as the starting point for
your work; this will be better than the ooo-site link in your case.
Regards,
Andrea.

Great Jori, if that's the case, feel free to get the from SVN at
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openoffice/ooo-site/trunk/content/fi, or
.../xx folder, and start translating files, in your own pace.
Then, send/export files into a zip, and we'll upload it to
openoffice.org/fi-test first, or similar folder, for you to check your
progress.

Hi all and thank you, Andrea and Tal, for the well-constructed instructions and guidelines you provided me with!
At your convenience, I can basically access or receive the website export by any method best supporting the practical work and conventions of OpenOffice. Furthermore, I will keep you informed and up-to-date of my progress.
Thanks again.
BR,
Jori

As Tal already wrote, this is no problem at all. Most of us, especially
in the localization community, help OpenOffice in their spare time. Our
tools are well-suited for occasional contributions too.
OpenOffice is already 100% translated into Finnish, but the website
needs work.
To learn how to help with the website localization, you can start with
http://openoffice.apache.org/website-native.html
and if you are OK with it just ask here for the website export and we
will send it to you. The website-local.html page (the one Tal
recommended) is good for more technical-minded volunteers, but not
necessary to start helping.
Regards,
Andrea.

please can someone with more insights tell the user what to do? I've not
the full overview.
Thanks
