distinguish version between WAR file

When i deploy web application, I will create a WAR
file.  Any way I can distinguish versions between
different WAR file ( without extracting the WAR file
and take a look at the manifest /META-INF/manifest.mf
)

Basically, I want to know what version is it before
installing / extracting.
