[vote] VelocityTools 1.2 final release

hey folks,

the release candidate of VelocityTools 1.2 has been out for over two
weeks now with no bugs reported. there was one *very* minor
improvement Marino made in the meantime. if you didn't notice it go
by, you can see it here:

http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs?rev=329695&view=rev

i think you'll agree with me that this does not warrant another
release candidate. but of course, if you disagree, you can express
that in the following vote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Vote: VelocityTools 1.2 final release
[ ] +1 I fully support this release.
[ ] +0 I like it, but...
[ ] -0 I'm not sure this is a good idea because...
[ ] -1 I am against this because...
---------------------------------------------------------------------

My vote is, of course, +1. Please register your opinions by Thursday.
On Friday, I will notify the PMC of the results (assuming the vote
passes), and then I'll try to push out the release to the mirrors by
Sunday. For reference, the steps left in the approved release plan
are:

5) a. Call for vote to final release, wait a few days for results,
then notify PMC
    b. Rebuild as VelocityTools 1.2 and upload for mirroring and all that
    c. Update VelocityTools website docs
    d. Announce final release to the various lists, and update
various news pages

thanks,
nathan

well, i appreciate the +1. :) now, barring a veto from Will or
Daniel, we're good to go. which is good, because i'm swamped with
work thru the holidays. it'll be all i can do to get this thing out
the door this weekend.

and yes, it would be great to touch up the build to echo that of the
velocity core a bit more. i'm not totally sure about rolling a new
build just for the envelope site stuff (which i'm looking forward
to!), but i might easily be talked into supporting it. :)

oh yes. i'm doubtful that the tri-jar approach will continue into the
next version. it has been prohibitive of some changes i've been
wanting to make. this is another reason why i'm continually more
inclined toward working on a 2.0 version next, rather than a 1.3. but
again, my time will be severly limited now thru december, so those
plans may be on hold until then unless someone else steps up.

(popping my head out of a pile of code and client work for a few minutes).

That's a +1 for me. Nice work, Nathan.

Cheers, WILL

Actually I was -0 first, because I do want to get the envelope site
idea on the road, but I will only be able to do so starting next
sunday. But I feel that there is no harm done by getting the 1.2 release
out now. We could easily push a 1.2.1 which integrates into a changes site

tools to make it look more like the velocity core build.

At some point we might also start to discuss whether having three (four?)
different jars is really a good idea. :-)

	Best regards
		Henning
