[~yarin] Not a problem if you want to knock it out. If you are interested, I got probably about half way through this ticket a few months ago, and I've pushed my work here: https://github.com/jasobrown/cassandra/tree/5839. Might be useful, maybe not, but at least it's there if you want to compare notes.
