juddi 3.0

Hi all,

please, have someone tried to install the new alpha version of juddi ? Could
someone tell me if an oldest database (juddi 2.0) should work or is there
another set of tables for this new version ?

Did someone have success integrating public keys to uddi ?

Thanks a lot for any sharing.

Best regards,

Hi Jeff,

I just realized now that my ideas about a database to support persistence of
UDDI nodes and registries was totally wrong. Thanks to advertise me.

Best regards,

Alex

Alexandre, not sure what you mean by "database for publication support".
Version 3 does have an underlying data model - it's just not compatible with
the version 2 data model. We don't distribute SQL scripts like version 2 as
the new version uses Java Persistence. Both OpenJPA and Hibernate are
supported. This works out-of-the-box with Hibernate and the Apache Derby
embedded database, but can be configured to work with whatever database you
choose. Please refer to the user guide and dev guide for more information
on installing and configuring version 3.

Thanks Jeff,

your answer clarified many issues for me.

However, a doubt still remains. At former version of juddi, a database for
publication support was an important issue. Does it remain important
(necessary) ? If so, how could I find an script to create underlying tables
?

Thanks again for the support.

Best regards,

Alex

Alexandre,

Unfortunately, version 3 of juddi is not compatible with version 2. We
toyed with the idea of maintaining backwards compatibility, but since we
used an entirely different architecture for the new version, we concluded
that it was not worth it and would restrict our progress.

Regards,

Jeff
