Online Velocity Template Tester

I didn't find any Online Velocity Template Tester

It should be useful also to check template from different velocity versions,
Freemarker has such useful tool http://try.freemarker.org

Is there a workaround to check velocity template without using/loading full
environment?

Hello,

I agree, that would be a nice idea.

I used to test my velocity with unit tests and created some framework code
similar to this approach (https://wiki.apache.org/velocity/TestingVelocity),
but more modern (not extending TestCase and so on). I had in mind to create
a JUnit Rule for ist... but never found the time to implement it. We even
included code to set it up using our own directives, toolbox.xml and so on.
Very customized for our project though.

Regards
Paul.

I'm not aware of anything out there in the public like that, though that is
a great idea!
