Saving MSWord97 Shapes to images
I have extracted all org.apache.poi.hwpf.usermodel.Shape from HWPFDocument and would like to save them as images.
Is this possible? if yes , Can someone tell me how to do this.

Yegor has also done the same for HSSF, although the results are less
satisfying.

Aren't those actually escher drawings, and not real images? If so, you'd
need to do some work to turn them into java drawing objects to render.
Yegor's done some excellent work on this for powerpoint in hslf, that'd be
a good place to start
