Tim Armstrong resolved IMPALA-6185.

    Resolution: Cannot Reproduce

Please reopen if anyone hits this again, preferably with thread stacks from pstack or gdb. It's unclear whether it was an environmental issue, a rare test bug, or a product bug.

I looped these tests for a week on a spare machine and didn't see any hangs.
