spamc message limit

Hi,

libspamc.c contains the following test:

~    if ((m->msg_len > 9999999) ||

I have seen no faq entry explaining the reason for this, and a project
at work is looking at using the spamc/spamd interaction to examine
messages for more in the body than just spam.

As the test prevents email larger than 10M, we would like to remove it.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the implications of doing so (apart from
the obvious increase in memory usage)?
