[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-17014) Upgrade jackson-databind to 2.9.10.4

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-17014?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17093865#comment-17093865 ]

Wei-Chiu Chuang commented on HADOOP-17014:
------------------------------------------

I don't think jackson-databind 2.10 is incompatible as far as hadoop's usage goes.

However, the 2.10 adds additional dependency and my PRs for branch-3.2 and branch-3.1 fails shading because of the extra classes added by it. I am ok to update to 2.9.10.4 to unblock the Hadoop 3.1.4 release. But in the long run this is not sustainable.

> trunk (3.3.0) now has HADOOP-16905. But branch 3.2/3.1/.. still uses jackson-databind 2.9.
> I'm opening this jira since I'm unsure whether we are backporting HADOOP-16905 to lower version branches due to compatibility concern or whatever.
