x64 binaries
Hello, my name is Mircea.
Is there any chance for you to also build Win64 binaries ?
I know the x32 binaries run just fine on x64 editions of Windows,
but it would be nice to be able to have a pure x64 server.
At the moment the SVN server is the only x32 component
on our source server.
I tried compiling SVN out of the box, with Visual Studio 2005,
but it's not working. And I'm an amateur in C++ world, so
I don't stand a chance.
Besides, the server world moved to 64 bit since more than 2 years ago,
so it's almost common sense what I'm asking, no offence intended :)
Even the desktop world moved, I'm running XP 64 on my machine,
and that's for more than an year now. 32 bit it's becoming obsolete,
so why not move forward ?
Thanx a lot for your time and for your awesome work,
Mircea.

Release candidate 7 of 1.5.0 has already been released, so a final
release should be just a couple months away.

The best answer I can give on this is:
http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/CHANGES talks about 06 Jun 2008.
I don't know if we are going to make this deadline as every major bug found
before that date might change the release plan, but it should be released
this month unless we find a bug that is big enough to require a restart of
the release process.

Subversion 1.5.0 (when released) contains the necessary changes to build a
complete Windows x64 version of all subversion binaries. It takes some
tuning to get all dependencies building as native x64, but it should work
ok.
(I ran the test suite over a release candidate a few weeks ago)
