what all can svg do?

Hi,
I am new to svg.I want to know the major advantage of using svg .

Geetha,

One of the best places for SVG is the source:

 http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG

where you'll find a lot of pointers to other SVG resources and 
descriptions of why it is interesting. Otherwise, I encourage you
to have a look at the Batik samples in the binary or source 
distribution (available in the download area).
