   This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage (HUDI-1936). 
   
   This feature request (a `hoodie.update.keys`-style property plus a custom payload for conditional/partial-column upserts) was proposed via PR #3035, which was closed unmerged; the JIRA remains In Progress. The specific property was never added to Hudi. Related partial-update capabilities exist today (partial-update payloads / record merge modes), but they do not implement the exact API proposed here. 
   
   Keeping this open as an unimplemented feature request pending a maintainer decision.
