Remote Manager problems on Windows.(James 2.2.0)
Hi,
on windows, I can't see what I'm typing in the remotemanager (the cared
remains unmoved), and only after I hit Enter I see the results(if I had
luck to type right). Under Linunx is everything OK.
Is there a solution/workaround for this problem, cause without the
remotemanager(or a replacement) under Windows JAMES is useless.
I changed the logging to DEBUG for the remotemanager, but no useful
extra information appears(regarding this problem).
Thanks in advance,
Ahmed.

With Hyper Terminal, your suggestion worked. Thank you :).
I wasn't using Hyper Terminal however, but the command line "telnet"
what comes with windows. It's only text based, and I found no config
settings for it :).
Thanks,
Ahmed.

Just set the "echo typed characters locally" option in your telnet
client. If using the standard "Hyper Terminal" program in windows, go to
"file/properties/settings/ASCII Setup" and set the option said above.

Well, it's the standard telnet client that comes with Windows 2000
Proffesional + the last SP. I've never configured something for it, so
it's the default configuration. I've used it for other activities too,
but this behavior is only with RemoteManager from JAMES.
Since there is no other decent way to manage remotely JAMES(something
that works out of the box), I can't put JAMES on windows computers/servers.
Thanks,
Ahmed.

Sounds like a problem with your telnet client, or how it's configured, not
Remote Manager.
