About my contact with Lucas Lorentz creator of AS3SVGRenderer
Hi
I contacted some days ago with Lucas Lorentz creator of AS3SVGRenderer [1]
I think this library can be a great addition to Royale to get SVG on SWF.
He's not working with AS3 for many years, but thinks Royale is very
interesting project
So if we have interest in this we can:
1) Lucas donate project to Royale
2) use it since is MIT, although we need to "mavenize" it ;)
Let me know what do you think, if you see interesting.
About the timeframe for this, I want to know more about "what to do", since
I think we have many things on the plate and maybe this can be done now,
but maybe in a near future. For me, right now SVG is not a focus like it
was some weeks ago due to my work on themes, so this is not critical to
progress and can be deferred, but anyway I think is interesting

I recommend that you contact him privately and request that he email the
list, or give you permission to forward the relevant portion his reply to
the list. And invite him to help maintain the library here.

Hi Carlos,
I took a few minutes to look at the code. First thing is that there is
more than one committer and at least the major committers need to give
permission unless they already granted such permission to Lucas. So
someone will have to contact Romamik. I also see evidence of a pull
request from severeCavok that might have been significant enough to
require getting permission from that person as well. I see some commits
from Franz Kruger, but the commit message make it sound like simple clean
up so if that's true I'd say signature is not required. Flow-yak fixed a
bug as well. Might be worth tracking down that person, but lack of
response probably wouldn’t hold up the contribution.
So, weigh that against just using it as a 3rd party library. There are 16
open bugs, so if we're going to be taking on fixing those bugs it might be
better to do that at the ASF if we can get permission from the
contributors.

Before we jump into the process can we examine the code somewhere? As a project we should know about third party dependencies that the donated software has.
