Nevertheless, since I picture myself as a rather scientific guy, I await your proof to the contrary... but, mind you, I graduated in

But the great community once gathered around a great idea, and you blew life
into it (the community). Still remember those days when you quietly asked
"Should I spawn the Cocoon, anyone interested?" and a handful answered
"Yes!".

Lot have happened since then, especially the growth of active developers, and
apparently the choice to tease not only Pier. ;o)

Not that big of a problem for me, but for some (Giacomo? ehehe) might
be... god, I'm on teasing mode today :-)

Yes, one can see the level of friendship and mutual respect on how we
can joke in the middle of an important discussion.

But remember one thing: Cocoon is a great software because of its
community, not the other way around.

PS: I just send a post on avalon-dev to tell us how the Cocoon community
is healty and friendly, and that a reason of it is those real-life
meetings that happen regularly. These fooling chatting threads clearly
shows it, and I wish such could occur in avalon-land...

I was thinking we could encourage more female involvement in Cocoon,
by starting a MEN OF COCOON CALENDER 2003.

looking at the renewed friendliness (not) at avalon-dev, we might as

And then you write a nifty XSLT taking the birthdays of the commiters and list
members and plot over a year, producing an SVG showing the distribution, and
find interesting patterns... huh?

Another chapter in meaningless things to do when you are bored...

gosh, do you people realize this chronological aggregation starts to
exhibit statistical value?

oh no, I'm entering wild-mode, aggghhhhh

I wonder what the cross-correlation of this information with agora's
density could do... hmmmm...

Excuse my off-topic-ness, but I have my personal theory on this: what if
deep brain structures *do* depent on what time of the year a child is born?

the ancient civilizations thought of astronomical influences but we now
know that's bullshit because they didn't know (much) about equinox
precession (which happens in thousands of years)

but what if brain structures are influenced by the ormonal (or other
inner-body) changes in the mother caused by different cyrcadian cycles
in different stages of fetus development?

oh, wait, that means that data has the same statistical value only on
the same latitude (where cyrcadian cycles have the same length)....

hmmmm

You'd have to be very careful with the DTD as I suspect some alien life
forms to be active in this project. How could it be otherwise?

So make sure you account for multiple birthdates and out-of-earth
calendars...

Yep. The "who we are" page should point these home pages, and we could
include in these pages some FOAF [1] information. FOAF doesn't seem to
currently include the birth date, but since it's an ongoing spec, we
could ask for its inclusion. We could even have RSS-like FOAF
auto-discovery in the index.html page !

Yes, there is a small thought about it on forrest-dev. IMHO the best
thing is to make each person put his bios (hahaha) where he wants, and
Forrest could be used for it. Since there are so many cross-project
committers, having a link to that page from each project IMHO makes more
sense...

What was that joke about every program evolving until it's able to send
email? (we reached that stage ages ago, to be quite honest)...

here we could have a joke about anything growing into an xml file with a
validation schema an a presentation stylesheet.

but didn't we want the committers bio pages? those would be perfect to
host that data.

What about adding to the docs a "birthday.xml" validated by
"birthday.dtd" and handled by the appropriate forrest skin ?

Wow, happy birthday you all!

The probability for 2 people in a room of 30 to be born in the same day
is about 70%. I wonder whether in our developer community there are two
people with the same birth days, from these announcements it looks like
;)

He doesn't know anything about Cocoon though, and hopefully keeps it
