[Bug 59745] apachectl -V does not work without a default httpd.conf file

https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=59745

--- Comment #1 from Petros Marios Prokopiou <pp...@redhat.com> ---
Replying for posterity

The behavior is as expected, since the server checks conf/httpd.conf for
configurations because of
-D SERVER_CONFIG_FILE="conf/httpd.conf"

If you wish to set a custom configuration file as default, this directive has
to be changed to something like:
conf/httpdat01.conf

With conf/httpd.conf set as default, -f has to be used in order to use a
non-default configuration file. That is explained in the below link.

Documentation
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/configuring.html#page-header

Quoting:
"The main configuration file is usually called httpd.conf. The location of this
file is set at compile-time, but may be overridden with the -f command line
flag."
