[Axis2] Axis2 1.1-RC2 Release
Hi all,
I uploaded the Axis2 1.1 RC2 release artifacts to the following
locations. Please help us by downloading and reviewing them.
Download locations :
* binary and source distributions -

http://people.apache.org/~thilina/maven/org.apache.axis2/jars/
* mars (addressing and SOAP monitor)

I uploaded a subset of Axis2 site for the benefit of the folks who are
going to try out Axis2 1.1-RC2. Some links may not be working. We
apologize for the inconvenience. Constructive feedback on the docs are
most welcome.

Please note that these releases do not include xdocs which will be
available with 1.1 release as usual.

Hi Paul,
We'll make sure to have bug fix releases if we find any significant
bugs with 1.1.. Actually it's part of my current release plan too...
This time it'll be little bit easy, since we are developing on a
separate branch for 1.1...

Hi,
I use axis2 as a web service client only. RC2 worked fine for that.
I do have a question about what happens post 1.1 release. Will there be
bug fix releases of 1.1, or will anyone wanting to take advantage of
bug fixes have to use the latest nightlies (as was the case with 1.0)?
We can't afford to run nightlies in production systems, which will make
life very difficult if 1.1 does turn out to contain the odd significant bug,
and using a nightly build is the only way to get hold of a bug fix.

Hi,
I downloaded 1.1-RC2 war, and checked quickly.
It works fine, no problem.
I checked these items,
- Validate page has no error
- Admin page works (I just take a look at)
- Services page shows version service
- version service shows WSDL
- REST(GET) works fine with version service
- SOAPmonitor works fine
- invoke version service from .NET client, OK.

The RC2 release has the springframework 1.2.8 jars in the WAR, which we
voted to take out. These jars are needed for the unit tests, but should not
be included in the release for reasons we agreed to such as size and the new
springframework 2.0 release. The one jar that should remain is our
axis2-spring-1.1-*.jar .
