While this is kind of "new feature", since it only affects the Modeler flow, I have no objections for us to port it to 3.0 branch. 

Dzmitry, do you think it is easily doable?

Yes, I think there must be no any difficulties with this. I can commit 
it to 3.0 branch right now if it's needed.
