[jira] [Commented] (JAMES-1523) New servername doesn't work

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-1523?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13789163#comment-13789163 ]

Tom Baker commented on JAMES-1523:
----------------------------------

Answering my own question here. I used GoDaddy as my name source and ZoneEdit as my domain name server.

I hadn't told GoDaddy that I had specified the IP address of my server in ZoneEdit so Godaddy was sending the name requests to another DNS that was pointing elsewhere.

> Key: JAMES-1523
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JAMES-1523
> Project: James Server
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: James Core
> Affects Versions: 2.3.2
> Environment: PC/Windows.
> Reporter: Tom Baker
>
> Actually, it's version 2.3.1.
> Everything was fine for years. Then I added a <servername> entry to the other 6 or so in the <servernames> list in the config.xml file. There are also several usernames specified elsewhere.
> All of the usernames work with all but the new server name.
> The error: "SMTP error from remote server after RCPT command: host: smtp.secureserver.net #5.1.0 Address rejected"
> The email is getting to the mail server, but the mail server is rejecting it.
> I can successfully send an email to the new "server" from another server in the <servernames> list. However, when I send an email from an external server to the new server, the JAMES server rejects it.
> Should I be doing anything more than adding the new name in the <servernames> list?
