Subversion synchronization- Change in Master Repository!

Hello Everybody,

We are using subversion 1.4 and we had just aboout started Subversion synchronisation from site A to Site B.
Site A is the Master Repository and Site B is the Mirror Repository.

Now we have changed the moved the master Repository to another system ( The IP address is changed) . Now when we try to execute the synchronisation nothing happens.

The synchronization is not happenine. Does anyone have a clue on this?

Kind Regards,
Prasad

Do you have a user name and password set up for this repo? I'm not a
windows guy but I assume the scheduler does not have access to your
environment, and thus does not have access to your cached Subversion
credentials. It is probably asking the scheduler for a password, and
maybe even for a user name.

Certainly not, there is something else going on.

RE: Subversion synchronization- Change in Master Repository!

Posted by pr...@wipro.com.

Hi,

I was able to synchronise the repository now till the latest version.
Now to continue the synchronisation I have created a batch file with the command as below
svnsync sync http://sync//repo//url.

I have placed this batch file in windows scheduler. But now I see that the synchronisation is not happening.
Do I have to execute the command svn ps --revprop -r0 svn:sync-from-url http://newserver/path/to/repo http://sync/repo/url
Everytime ?

Kind Regards,
Prasad

RE: Subversion synchronization- Change in Master Repository!

Posted by pr...@wipro.com.

We are using SVN. We had a setup in which the Repository that we were accessing (at 10.186.69.62(machine IP)) was in Sync with another repository elsewhere. We had configured using svnsync utility.

Due to some emergency we had to move our Repository (from 10.186.69.62) to another machine (10.181.51.152).
I did a mistake (I suppose), I created the respository in the new machine and copied the Repository from the old mahcine and pasted on the new repository created. Users started accessing the new Repo just by changing the IP to the new one in the SVN URL. There is no problem in the setup here, but the Sync which was happening earlier is failing. I started the sync again with svnsync command, but still it is failing giving the error

" svnsync: Can't connect to host '10.186.69.62': A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. "

Here 10.186.69.62 is the old machine where the SVN Repo was there from which I moved (as explained earlier) to the new machine (10.181.51.152). The machine 10.186.69.62 is not in any network for us to access now.

Correct me if I am wrong, I think somewhere in the Repo, it is still referring to the old machine IP (10.186.69.62). Is there anyway we can change the IP in the current repository (to 10.181.51.152)??

We are using subversion version 1.4 . The OS is Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition.

Why ? :-)

Please provide more detail: do you get any error messages ? How do you do the synchronisation in the first place ? Which operating systems are you on ?
