how about use {{lsmod}} or {{/proc/modules}} to detect this? CentOS 7 is same on this.

> On my Fedora 23, overlayfs is a module that is not loaded by default (attempting to mount an overlayfs automatically triggers the module loading). However {{mesos-slave}} won't start until I manually load the module since it is not listed in {{/proc/filesystems}} until is it loaded.
> It would be nice if there was a more reliable way to determine overlayfs support.
