At the present time, I am the only developer, tester, manager, doc writer, ... on the log4cxx project :-(

I am currenlty looking for commited developers to help with coding ...

If you are interested, please contact me directly.

Michaël,

Attracting new committers is the most interesting part of managing
open source projects. 3 factors seems to matter the most.

1) Technical merits of the project. In particular, it should not be
too hard for a beginner to start contributing in his or her particular
area of interest.

2) The project should have either economic or educational value or both.
It should be interesting enough to attract new talent.

3) The ambiance or cultural setting of the project. The project
environment should be pleasant. The charisma of the lead developer(s)
can be a determining factor. (It's not that I have any charisma, I am
just noting that it is an important factor.)

Another crucial factor is longevity. After initial success, many
developers tend to overestimate their capabilities and try to do too
much. Staying focused can make the difference between success and
failure.

In short, my recommendation would be to stay focused, implement only
the most important features and not be afraid to prune out fluff.
