[jira] [Created] (CB-1078) Market URL's fail to open on Android
Simon MacDonald created CB-1078:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Market URL's fail to open on Android
Key: CB-1078
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-1078
Project: Apache Cordova
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Android
Affects Versions: 2.0.0
Reporter: Simon MacDonald
Assignee: Joe Bowser
Priority: Trivial
The mobile spec tests under "Misc Content" -> "Search Android market" when clicked throw an Application Error "The protocol is not supported. (market://search?q=google)".
I think this has more to do with Google than us but I thought I should capture it.

Braden Shepherdson commented on CB-1078:
----------------------------------------
I can't reproduce this on my Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean. I wonder if this is a problem on older Samsung devices? But that shouldn't apply to the Note.

Maybe it is because I'm in Canada or something odd like that. When I click on the following link:
<a href="market://search?q=google&c=apps" class="btn large">Search Android market</a>
it pops up the error on all my devices.

I'm in Canada too, actually. (I think most of the Cordova devs are, strange as that is.)
What happens if you hit that link with a real browser, instead of from inside Cordova?
