Session chair signup now available
Greetings!
Things are moving apace, with ApacheCon 2000 just over two weeks
away. Lots of people are registering and we're getting lots of
interest in the expo. We've already got more people registered
than we had in October '98, which is excellent news!
More news, strictly for attendees:
The login sequence for registered attendees has changed. You
still need to log onto the site in order to access any of the
attendee-only stuff, but the login screen has been cleaned up.
It's now at <http://ApacheCon.Com/html/login.html>.
Once you log in, you can move around within the attendee-only
area for 30 minutes before your session will expire and you'll
have to log in again.
Two other features have been added:
o The signup form for session chairs is *finally* available.
Go to <http://ApacheCon.Com/html/session-chair-signup.html>
to see what sessions still need chairs and sign up for one.
** PLEASE DON'T BE GREEDY! ** We have a limited number of
sessions, and lots of people attending who might want to
volunteer by being a session chair. Please only sign up
for one or two; if you are chairing more than one session,
we *may* end up asking you to resign one or more in order
to let other people have a chance.
o A page to allow you to see your schedule at the conference is
now available. It's in a very primitive form at the moment,
and only shows sessions for which you're a speaker or a chair.
Soon it will allow you to tick off the sessions you want to
attend, as well. See the page on the Web site at
<http://ApacheCon.Com/html/personal-schedule.html>.
Soon we're going to ask you to actively make use of that schedule
page and indicate which sessions you're going to want to attend;
we're going to need to have some idea of the size of the audiences
so we can put the sessions in appropriately-sized rooms.
As always, please let me or the planning committee
(<pl...@ApacheCon.Com>) know if there are any questions we
can answer for you or if there are needs we should address.
Thanks for your support of Apache!
