 # Maven 3 logging with SLF4J
 
 The standard Maven distribution, from Maven 3.1 onward, uses the [SLF4J API][1] for logging combined with the [SLF4J Simple][1] implementation. Looking at the distribution you will see the following layout where the `simplelogger.properties`, `slf4j-api-1.7.2-jar` and `slf4j-simple-1.7.2.jar` specifically relate to the SLF4J implementation.
